Got Questions?
Find answers to common questions about BuyersMarket, our pricing, and how to get started.
What makes BuyersMarket different from other price comparison tools?
Most price apps just tell you WHERE to buy. BuyersMarket tells you WHEN to buy.
Our A-B-C rating system uses a layered algorithm that analyzes price history and compares across stores to show you:
• A (Grab It!) - Significantly below the typical price. Buy now.
• B (Fair Price) - In the normal range. Fine to buy if you need it.
• C (Hold Off) - Above the typical range. Wait if you can.
We're not just showing you today's prices—we're showing you today's opportunity.
How accurate are your prices?
We update prices daily through automated data collection from retailer websites, supplemented by real-time crowdsourced data from our community of shoppers.
Our A-B-C rating system analyzes 90 days of price history, so you're getting timing intelligence based on actual market trends—not just a snapshot.
While we strive for 100% accuracy, prices can change between updates. That's why we show you when each price was last verified and encourage our community to submit updates via receipt uploads.
Which stores do you cover?
We currently track prices across stores in Kingston, St. Andrew, and Portmore, including major chains: PriceSmart, MegaMart, Hi-Lo, Progressive Grocers, Sampars, Loshusan, and General Foods.
We're expanding coverage weekly. Don't see your favorite store? Let us know—we prioritize additions based on community requests.
What's the pricing model?
BuyersMarket uses a freemium model:
• Free - Price comparisons across 100+ stores, basic A-B-C ratings, and standard search.
• Premium (J$299/month) - Unlimited price alerts, offline mode, full 90-day price history charts, and priority support.
We also partner with retailers and brands who want to reach smart shoppers. These partnerships help us keep the core app free.
How do I know if a deal is really good?
That's exactly why we built the A-B-C rating system. Instead of doing mental math or trying to remember what you paid last month, just look for the badge:
• Green "A" = Best time to buy (significantly below the typical price)
• Yellow "B" = Normal range (close to what it typically costs)
• Red "C" = Hold off if possible (above the typical range)
We take the guesswork out of "is this a good deal?" so you can shop with confidence.
Is my data private?
Yes. We take privacy seriously:
•Receipt scanning happens on YOUR device—we never see your receipt images
•We don't sell your personal information to third parties
•Any data shared with partners is anonymized and aggregated
•You control what you share through our privacy settings
Our business model is built on helping you save money, not selling your data.
What if I find a price that's wrong?
We want to know. If you spot a discrepancy:
•Tap the "Report Price" button on any product page
•Upload a photo of your receipt or shelf price tag
•We verify and update within 24 hours
Price accuracy improves when our community stays active—that's the power of crowdsourced data.
