How does the A-B-C rating system work?

Our A-B-C rating system analyzes 90 days of price history to help you make smart buying decisions. Here's how it works:

A (Grab It!) - Price is at or below the 90-day low. This is the optimal time to purchase—don't wait!

B (Good Enough) - Price is within 10% of the 90-day low. A reasonable deal if you need it now.

C (Hold Off) - Price is more than 10% above the 90-day low. Unless urgent, wait for a better deal.

This system is based on the proven Basket Savings methodology from Australia's CHOICE magazine, adapted for the Jamaican market.

How accurate are the prices?

Price accuracy is our top priority. We use multiple data sources to ensure reliability:

Real-time API data from partner stores (when available)

Web scraping from verified supermarket websites (PriceSmart, MegaMart, Hi-Lo, etc.)

User-contributed data from receipt scans and manual price submissions

Regular verification through automated checks and community validation

Prices are updated multiple times per day, and we flag data that hasn't been verified recently. Our community of users helps maintain accuracy by reporting discrepancies, which we investigate immediately.

While we strive for 100% accuracy, prices can change rapidly in stores. We recommend checking the app right before shopping for the most current information.
