Tap Penny to chat. On a product or list, tap Ask Penny and she already knows what you're looking at.

Open Penny from any page of the web app. She opens beside the page you're on, and you can talk to her where your browser supports it.

💬 Things to Ask

“Where is Grace rice cheapest?”

A row for each item: the best store near you, its price, its A-B-C rating and how many supermarkets she compared.

“Is J$1,250 good for a 5 lb bag of rice?”

She checks the same brand and size we track and says good buy, about the same, or cheaper elsewhere.

“Add 2 tins of mackerel and a bag of flour to my list”

She adds them, with the quantities you said, and shows the list as a card you can open.

“Which store has my whole list for less?”

She prices the whole list at every store you can reach, the same way the best-store page does.

After each answer Penny offers a couple of follow-ups you can tap, and you can copy or share any answer.

🏷️ Reading Penny's Price Rows

When Penny compares prices, each item gets its own row with a photo, the best store and price, and its A-B-C rating. Each row also gets a verdict. The verdicts are worked out from our price data, never guessed by the AI, and they only compare the same brand: a cheaper other brand is shown as information, not as a reason to switch.

Good buy

Your price is the best we track for the same brand and size, or close to it.

About the same

Within a few percent of the best price we track.

Cheaper elsewhere

Another store near you has the same item for less. She names it.

Not tracked yet

We don’t check that item every day yet, so she won’t guess.

A short note under the answer says when those prices were last checked. Penny only suggests stores in your shopping area, so set your parish in Settings for the best answers.

Snap or pick a photo

A flyer, a shelf tag, a receipt or the inside of your fridge. Tap the photo button in the chat; add a question if you like.

Penny says what she saw

One line tells you what she read, so you can catch a misread straight away.

She checks the prices

Each priced item becomes a row with a verdict. Prices in your photo are treated as what's printed, not as a store's confirmed price.

Pro Tip

Hold the phone straight over a flyer or tag, in good light. If Penny can't read it she'll ask for a closer shot, and that photo doesn't count against your month.

Photos are read once and never stored.

Watch my lists

Each night Penny reprices your lists. When another store you can reach is now clearly cheaper, she moves the list there and tells you in the morning.

My usuals

From your scanned receipts she knows what you buy regularly, prices each item at stores near you and says buy now, wait, or fair price. One tap puts the buy-now items on a list.

Weekly plan

On your shopping day she builds a list from your usuals and this week's deals, within your budget, and says plainly if it comes in over.

Turn the jobs on and off in Penny's desk. From there you can also:

🧠 What Penny Remembers

Tell Penny things like “we're vegetarian”, “I shop on Saturdays” or “my budget is J$15,000 a week” and she'll keep them in mind. Say “I have rice already” and she'll skip rice for two weeks. Change your mind any time by telling her. She never keeps health or medical details.
