Take a Photo or Select from Gallery
After shopping, open BuyersMarket and tap the '+' button or go to Profile → Upload Receipt.

Our scanner works best when the receipt is:
- ✓Flat on a surface (not crumpled)
- ✓Well-lit with no shadows
- ✓Entire receipt visible in frame
- ✓Text is readable and in focus
AI Reads Your Receipt
Our OCR (Optical Character Recognition) technology automatically extracts:
Processing happens on YOUR device! Your receipt image is never uploaded to our servers - only the extracted text data.
Review & Confirm
Check the extracted data and correct any errors. Then tap 'Submit' to contribute!

✅ Your Data is Protected
📱Local Processing: Receipt scanning uses on-device AI (PaddleOCR). The image never leaves your phone.
🔐Anonymous Data: We only store product names and prices - no personal identifying information.
🗑️No Image Storage: Your receipt photos are deleted immediately after processing.
🙈Anonymized Contributions: Other users see prices, not who submitted them.

Don't have a receipt? You can still contribute by manually submitting prices you see in stores:

Use search or barcode scanner to find the product
Tap "Update Price"
Found on the product detail page
Enter the price & store
Select the store and type the price you saw
Optional: Add photo proof
Photo of shelf tag increases verification score
✨ Quality Guidelines
✅ Good Contributions
- • Clear, readable receipt photos
- • Current prices (within last 7 days)
- • Accurate store selection
- • Correct product matching
❌ Please Avoid
- • Old receipts (more than 7 days)
- • Blurry or cropped images
- • Wrong store attribution
- • Promotional/sale prices without marking as "on sale"
🔍 How We Verify Submissions
All submissions go through our verification system to ensure accuracy:
Auto-Check: AI compares against recent prices for reasonableness
Community Validation: Multiple similar submissions increase confidence
Contributor Reputation: Established users with good track records get faster approval
📄 Receipts = Points!
Each verified receipt earns you 25 points plus 5 points per product extracted. A typical receipt can earn 50-100+ points!
